Obituary for Shirley Carmack
Shirley Ann Carmack, 73, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at her home.
Born April 24, 1950 in Hustontown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Vernon Franklin Clever and Dorothy Marjorie Cutchall.
Shirley was married to Garry R Carmack for 42 years. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and enjoyed baking and cooking meals for them. Shirley also helped raise other children as well as her grandchildren. She was a welcoming and loving person who truly cared about others. Shirley loved her cats, playing bingo, and listening to gospel music and church sermons on television.
Shirley is survived by her children, Eric V. (Michele) Carmack, Dorothy M. (David) Foreman, Leah D. Carmack, Christina Heinbaugh, her mother, Dorothy Clever, 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, siblings: Nancy Egolf, Roger Clever, Gene Clever, James Clever, Ronald Clever, Tammy Robinson, and 3 cats.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Garry Carmack (2013), and a step-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, PA with Mr. Jeff Egolf and Mr. James Clever speaking. There will be a visitation 2 hours prior to the service and burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA.
