Roy E. Heckman, 81, of Mercersburg, PA died unexpectedly May 28, 2022.
Born January 12, 1941 in Chambersburg, PA, he was a son of the late Elwood and Anna (Sollenberger) Heckman.
Roy was a lifelong dairy farmer.
He enjoyed board games, attending flea markets and auctions, visiting family in Phoenix, AZ, and watching 1970’s game shows on TV.
Roy was a member of Mission Hill Church, Chambersburg, PA.
Surviving family include his wife, Ruth Anna (Moyer) Heckman, whom he married March 10, 1962. A son, Royce E. (Diane) Heckman, Mercersburg, a daughter, Rosetta A. “Rosy” Simmons, Phoenix, three grandchildren, Nathan Heckman, Spencer Simmons, and Chase Heckman. Two siblings, Paul (Darlene) Heckman, and Eleanor (Mark) Williams. A sister-in-law, Barbara Heckman and a brother-in-law, Gerald Yaukey.
Roy was preceded in death by two brothers, his twin brother, Ray E. Heckman, and Garnet Heckman and a sister, Janet Yaukey
Funeral service 2:00 PM Friday June 3, 2022 in Mission Hill Church, 465 Center St., Chambersburg, with Pastor Joel Gillman officiating. Burial in Spring Grove Cemetery, Lemasters, PA.
Viewing Friday one hour prior to the service in the church.
