Obituary for Oscar E. Dickey
Oscar Elwood Dickey Sr., of Mercersburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Fulton County Medical Center.
Born July 23, 1939 in Big Pool, Maryland, he was a son of the late Howard Lee and Lauressa Mae Pierce Dickey.
Oscar married Elizabeth Betty Daywalt on December 22, 1985. Oscar last worked as a driver at Wanda’s Furniture Store and enjoyed volunteering his time. He worked very hard to help his family. He enjoyed attending tractor pulls and car shows, and he loved his kittens and dog, Luna.
Oscar is survived by his wife, Betty, a son, Oscar Dickey Jr., stepson, Toney (Dena) Robins of Fannettsburg, brothers Larry (Jim) Dickey of Big Pool, Donald Dickey of Chambersburg, and a sister, Susan Brown of Hagerstown, MD. Surviving grandchildren include Garrison and Gracey Dickey, Steven, Tyler, and Rebecca Robbins.
Oscar is preceded in death by his siblings, Darlene Armstrong, Mary Ann Smith, and Wayne Dickey.
