Obituary for Michael Allen Hornbaker
Michael Allen Hornbaker, 56, of Mercersburg passed away on January 1, 2022 at his home.
Born October 2, 1965 in McConnellsburg, PA, he was a son of Billy Hornbaker and Jenny Fisher.
Michael attended James Buchanan High School and worked over 20 years as a machinist at Myers Manufacturing Company. Michael really enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending the late model dirt track races. He enjoyed taking hunting and fishing trips to the states of Illinois, Tennessee, New York, West Virginia, and Virginia, with his father, brothers, and friends. Michael enjoyed being the local mechanic and helping his local community with their mechanical problems.
Michael is survived by his fiancé Vickie Burch, three children, Megan (Connor) Barron of Chambersburg, Michaela (Josh) Myers of Montana, Malachi Hornbaker of Mercersburg, and 4 great-grandchildren, Jonah, Juniper, Noah, and Daniel. Michael is survived by his parents, Billy (Anna Mae) Hornbaker Sr., Jenny (Donald) Fisher, and two brothers, Darel Hornbaker of Mercersburg, and Billy (Theresa) Hornbaker Jr. of Tennessee.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Fries Funeral Home Inc. Mercersburg, PA with Pastor Kevin Lay officiating and burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting 2 hours prior to the service for a viewing and visitation.
In lieu of flowers, a fund will be created and split among the surviving children through donations made to Fries Funeral Home Inc.
