Obituary for Larry Hopkins
Larry L. Hopkins, 81, of Mercersburg passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born March 2, 1940 in Mercersburg, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph Benjamin and Edith May Mills Hopkins.
Larry graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1959. For 48 years, he worked for Frick/Johnson Controls retiring in 2007. He was an avid softball player, pitcher for many years.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Cheryl L. Nelling Hopkins (2015).
He is survived by 4 children, Lisa (Michael) Beecher, Dody (Raymond Hornbaker) Hopkins, K. Todd (Michele) Hopkins, and Jill (Maurice) Quivers. Larry is survived by 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. A sister, Lucile Hartman and brother Paul “Bussy” Hopkins both of Mercersburg, PA.
A private burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery, Lemasters, PA at the convenience of the family.
