Obituary for Joanne Harmon
Audrey Joanne Harmon, of Strongsville, OH, and formerly of Mercersburg, PA, passed away on December 16, 2022. Known mostly as JoJo or Joanne to her family and friends.
Born September 28, 1939, in Lemasters, PA, she was a daughter of the late Seth E. and Stella (Ommert) Benedick.
Joanne graduated from James Buchanan High School and attended Hagerstown Business School. Joanne worked at the Mercersburg Academy for over 30 years and then became co-owner of Phillips Seeds Garden Center until her retirement. She always enjoyed her dogs Spike and Nikki who often went to work with her.
Joanne was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Lee Johnston, Margaret Fries, Miriam Springer, June Kriner, Evelyn Schenck, Wayne Hissong and Carolyn Snyder. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Joanne came to Ohio approximately 12 years ago to be closer to her niece, Greta (Mike) Miller and her great niece and great nephew, Katie and Dean Miller.
