Obituary for Joann R. McCullough
Joann R. McCullough, 90, of Mercersburg, passed away on January 8, 2022 in Chambersburg.
Born August 15, 1931 in Mercersburg, she was a daughter of the late Lynn W. and Virginia C. Burhanan Price.
Joann was raised in Mercersburg and later married Elmer R. McCullough. They raised 4 children together, Joan, Elmer, Kathy, and Vincent. Joann loved music and singing the most. She enjoying cooking, and playing cards, and visiting with family. She was a very loving, kind, and giving, mother, wife, sister, and friend. Joann loved sitting on her front porch talking with family and friends or whoever would stop and talk with her. All it took was a hello and it was guaranteed you would spend a few minutes getting to know one another.
Joann was a member at Bethel AME Church in Mercersburg, and worshiped in her home every day.
Joann is survived by her children, Joan P. Bell, Elmer W. McCullough, Kathy (Clifford) Johnson, and Vincent E. McCullough all of Mercersburg. Surviving grandchildren include, Bruce (Tammy) McCullough, Daniel and Skyler McCullough, Heather and Scott Bell, Tyrone Johnson, Dante Sanchez, and 11 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include, Theodore (Ada) Price of Louisiana, Art (Debra) Price Charlotte Vargas, and Herb Price of Mercersburg. She was loved by and will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Elmer R. McCullough (1997), and siblings Kenneth and Richard Price, and Karen Dixon.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Fries Funeral Home Inc. Mercersburg, PA with a viewing 1 hour prior. Reverend Marilyn Hubbard will be officiating and burial will follow at Zion Union Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA.
