Jean Elizabeth Zimmerman, 91, of Mercersburg, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in
Chambersburg.

Born August 7, 1930, in Greencastle, she was a daughter of the late Nellie Phenicie Mills.
Jean attended the Greencastle High School and worked several years at Stanley Clothing Company. On
February 17, 1954, she married Marvin L. Zimmerman and over the next 50 years she actively farmed
with him on their family farm, Zim-Mar Farm. Jean loved spending time with her family and enjoyed
cooking meals for everyone. She liked going to antique sales and auctions.

Jean was a member at the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, and also Farm Women Group #6.
Jean is survived by her children, a son Garry (Sandra) Zimmerman of Chambersburg, daughters Kimberly
(Bill) Murdaugh of Mercersburg, and Victoria (Garry) Martin of Mercersburg. She is survived by 4
grandchildren, Shawn Zimmerman, Amber Osbaugh, Autumn Reichard, Seth Martin, and 11 great-
grandchildren, and a sister, Mary Jane King of Chambersburg.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Zimmerman (2017) and sisters, Evelyn Scott and Flo
Speilman.

A viewing will be held 6:00 – 8:00PM on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Fries Funeral Home Inc.
Mercersburg, PA. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at St. Stephen’s
Lutheran Church in Upton, with Reverend Warren Heintzelman officiating, and burial will take place at
Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.
