Obituary for Genevieve C Angle
Genevieve C. Angle, 97, of Mercersburg, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022 in Hagerstown, MD.
Born November 20, 1925 in Mercersburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late David S. and Elizabeth (Stumbaugh) Crist.
Genevieve graduated from Mercersburg High School in 1943. She married Robert E. Angle on March 2,1946. She helped him operate the Angle Farm and raise their two sons, Bobby and Gary. Genevieve enjoyed cooking and visiting her family. She never forgot to send cards every year to all her family members and friends.
Genevieve was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mercersburg since 1947 and a longtime member of the Hoch Bible Class.
Surviving family include her sons, Robert E. (Debbie) Angle of Chambersburg, Gary L. (Bonnie) Angle of Mercersburg, and grandchildren, Meghan (Byard) Mann, Emily Angle, Gregory (Mary) Angle, Mitchell (Sharyn) Angle, granddaughter in-law Kathy Garren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Angle (2007), a grandson, Andrew L. Angle (2021) and siblings Earl Crist, Melvin Crist, Wilbur Crist, Mildred Pheil, Evelyn McCulloh, Mary Auman, and Florence Mellott.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church of Mercersburg with Pastor Michael Baughman officiating. There will be a viewing 1 hour prior to the service. Only immediate family will process to the internment at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA. A luncheon will follow the service at the church Social Room.
