Obituary for Freddy Wayne Penrod
Freddy Wayne Penrod, 87 of Mercersburg, Pa., passed away peacefully on January 10, 2023.
Born Dec. 15, 1935 in South Fork, Pa., he was a son of the late Wilbur and Inzie Penrod.
Freddy worked at Mac Trucks for 37 years for which he was very proud. He worked many extra hours to provide for his family. He had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with family and friends. He loved to create wooden vases bowls and other wooden things giving them away to others.
He was a member of St. Lukes’s Catholic of Mercersburg.
He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia whom he was married for sixty years.
Surviving family include Brett (Diana) Penrod of Mercersburg, Brenda (Leon) Boro of Roanoke, Va., Brian (Mary) Penrod Florida, and Barry Penrod of Greencastle, Pa.; eight grand children, Bradley Penrod (Christina), Stephanie Ross (Lew), Nathan Penrod (Shawn), Spencer Penrod, Paige Penrod, Peri Penrod, Tiffany Nichole Robinson, and Mark Anthony Keynote II; and seven great grandchildren, Hunter Ross, Isabella Ross, Madeline Ross, Abigale Ross, Auren Ulsh, Azlynn Ulsh, and Jacob Penrod.
A memorial service will be held January 21st. at 11 am. At St. Luke the Evangelist Mission, Overhill Dr. & Black Rd, Mercersburg, PA 17236
