Obituary for Donald Richards
Donald Ray Richards, 70, of Greencastle, PA passed away January 1, 2022 at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born August 3, 1951, in McConnellsburg, PA, he was son of the late Houston J Richards, Sr. and Blanche E (Deshong) Richards.
Don was a 1970 graduate of McConnellsburg High School and attended Penn State College. He worked at JLG and JerrDan as a CNC Programmer. He loved softball and coached a team for many years. He was a writer and author of several books that have been published. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who couldn’t wait to see pappy.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sarah A (Sweeney) Richards. His four children; Patty A (Tim) Todd, Kathy S (Mike) Poper, Charles B (Denise) Richards and Crystal D Richards. He has 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Houston (Jimmy) Richards, Jr., Jim Woods and 2 sisters; June Zeis, JoAnn Harmon.
He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Floyd Meyers officiating. Arrangements by Fries Funeral Home Inc. Mercersburg, PA
