Delores R. Buchanan, 85, of Mercersburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in Johnstown, PA.
Born December 21, 1936 in Chambersburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ervin and Ethel Fisher
Rosenberry.
Delores worked for Bear Packing, Knouse Foods, and Spiritrust Lutheran Homecare. Delores was married
to Harry A. Buchanan for 68 years. She loved her family and loved the farm life. She was an excellent
baker and cook who loved having her family visit for meals. Delores loved flowers and enjoyed gardening
and canning.
Delores was a member of the Harbor Light Temple in Chambersburg, PA.
Delores is survived by 3 children, Melvin E. Buchanan of Mercersburg, Gerald L. (Esther) Buchanan of
Greencastle, Lois J. Buchanan of Chambersburg, 5 grandchildren, Jody, Logan, Gerald, Jay Buchanan, and
Emily Hammond, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Marie Poole of Ft. Loudon, and Janet Myers of
Chambersburg.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A Buchanan (2021), and 3 children, Jay A.
Buchanan, Brenda Buchanan, Juanita Buchanan, and two brothers, Carl and Sonny Rosenberry.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Fries Funeral Home Inc.
Mercersburg, PA, with Pastor Andy Ficks and Pastor Leon Witter officiating. There will be a viewing 1
hour prior to the service.
A viewing will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday June, 13, 2022 at Fries Funeral Home Inc.,
Mercersburg, PA.
Burial will take place at St. Thomas Cemetery.
