Dean A. Heinbaugh, 75, of Claylick, PA, passed away at home on August 18, 2022.
Born September 4, 1946, he was the oldest child of the late Dayton A. "Hank"
Heinbaugh and Dolly L. (Bricker) Heinbaugh.
Dean graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1965 and started a masonry
contracting business in 1969. He loved his work and the many lasting friendships
he made throughout his years running the business. He retired in 2015.
Dean was a dedicated husband and father. On November 5, 1971, he married his
high school sweetheart and love of his life, Josephine Faye (Angle) Heinbaugh.
They shared three children, Deana (Greg) Russell of SC, Cody Heinbaugh of WY
and Cory (Amanda) Heinbaugh of Mercersburg and six grandchildren, Bryce, Reilly
and Reese Heinbaugh and Parker, Grant, and Summer “Annie” Russell. Other
surviving family members include three siblings, Gary E. (Judy) Heinbaugh of
Mercersburg, Nancy H. (Frank) Corcoran of Chambersburg, and Sandra C. (Philip)
Malone of St. Thomas.
Dean was a member of the Two Top Fellowship Church. He was an avid hunter,
outdoorsman and member of the NRA. He especially loved spending time in
Wyoming on the ranch that he owned with his son. Another favorite activity was
attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. During his lifetime, he was a
farmer, business owner, gardener, athlete, and Little League baseball coach. He
was competitive, determined, and conservative. He was fiercely loyal to those he
loved, and he set a great example of a life well‐lived. Although he will be dearly
missed, his work ethic, advice and beliefs will be remembered and passed on to
future generations.
At Dean’s request, there will be no viewing or funeral. However, there will be an
informal gathering on Saturday, August 27th at 2:00 at the Two Top Fellowship
Church. Food will be provided and those attending are asked to please dress
casually. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Two Top Fellowship Church,
13743 Fort Loudon Rd, Mercersburg, PA 17236.
