Obituary for David Hornbaker
David A. Hornbaker, 69, of Mercersburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in Chambersburg.
Born August 19, 1952 in Hagerstown, MD he was a son of the late Jacob E. and Betty Jane Moats Hornbaker.
David graduated from Clear Spring High School. For 19 years, he worked as a forklift operator at Grove Manufacturing in Waynesboro. David enjoyed cooking for his wife and family and playing Call of Duty with his friend, Freddie. David loved watching older western television shows like Wagon Train and Rawhide.
David is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maxine L. Hornbaker of Mercersburg, and two sons, Kirk Clever of Chambersburg, Tyler Hornbaker of Mercersburg, a grandson, Isaiah Small, daughter, Shelly Hornbaker, 3 granddaughters, Jess, Bobbie Jean, and Brittany, and 2 great-granddaughters, Abby Jean Hornbaker and Hannah Atherton.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jane Hornbaker and stepfather, Robert Shupp.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Fries Funeral Home Inc. Mercersburg, PA with Pastor Kevin Lay officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service for a visitation. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA.
