Obituary for Dave Hawbaker
E. David Hawbaker, 66, of Mercersburg passed away peacefully at his home on January 27, 2022.
Born September 19, 1955, in Chambersburg, PA, he was a son of the late Harold D. and Ruth A. Bennett Hawbaker.
Dave graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1973 and worked over 40 years as a truck driver. He was last employed by LB Water in Chambersburg. Dave loved spending his time working in the yard and playing golf with his friends. He enjoyed hunting and attending sales with his wife. Dave was a devoted husband who loved spending time with family and friends and being there for others.
Dave is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandi L. Hawbaker, and Sandi's son, John (Jen) Sollenberger of Chambersburg, one granddaughter Caleigh Sollenberger, and a daughter Karrie S. Hawbaker of California. Surviving sisters include Mary L. Gerhis of Hereford, PA, Earnestine (Milford) Hornbaker of Mercersburg, Patricia D. Scott of Greencastle, Diane C. Dorty of Mercersburg, and Donna (David) Hornbaker of Mercersburg.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Greencastle Church of God, with Pastor Floyd Myers officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 1:00 for a visitation. There will be no viewing. Burial will take place at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg, PA.
