Obituary for Daris H. Hunsberger
Daris H. Hunsberger, 84, of Mercersburg, PA died January 13, 2022, in Laurel Lakes Rehab and Wellness Center, Chambersburg, PA.
Born March 3, 1937 in Hagerstown, MD, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Esther (Lowans) Ernst.
Daris was a graduate of James Buchanan High School, Mercersburg. She was a former employee of Stanley Company, Chambersburg. Along with being a homemaker, she provided child care in her home. Daris enjoyed sewing, visiting the family mountain ground, flowers, bird watching, spending time with family and family sporting events.
Daris was a member of Welsh Run Church of Brethren, Mercerburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene A. Hunsberger, who died September 22, 2020, and two brothers, Edward and Ronald Ernst.
Surviving family include three children, Deborah A. (Donald) Piper of Mercersburg, Kenneth E. (Donna) Hunsberger of Greencastle, PA, Thomas C. Hunsberger and spouse of Pittsburgh, PA. Three grandchildren, Erica D. (Joel) Piper, Matthew B. (Amanda) Piper and Tiffany A. (Jacob) Corl all of Mercersburg. Four great grandsons, Jayden, Cade, Keton, Jaxson, and one great grandchild on the way. Also surviving a brother, William (Joyce) Ernst of Mercersburg, a sister, Linda Kriner of Clear Spring, MD, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 12:00 PM Thursday, January 20, 2022, in Fries Funeral Home, Inc., Mercersburg with Reverends W. David Kent and Leon Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Welsh Run Brethren Church Cemetery, Welsh Run.
Viewing two hours prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home.
