Obituary for Carl L. Robinson
Carl L. Robinson, 89, of Mercersburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.
Born October 26, 1933, in Mercersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Fred L. and Carrie L. Kuhn Robinson Sr.
Carl worked as a supervisor for Norman S. Earley & Son Construction and also Blake Company, both of Hagerstown, MD. Carl was a self-employed home builder in the Mercersburg area in the 1970’s and 80’s. Later on, Carl became an excavator and started Robinson Excavating. Carl enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and restoring tractors.
Carl was a member of Greencastle Church of God.
Carl is survived by his wife, Martha J. Robinson and children: Donna J. Myers, Debra K. Oberholzer, Judy D. (Gary) Orbston, Nancy L. (David) Cordell, Rick (Rose) Robinson, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include sisters: Velma (Bob) Schooley, Dorcas (Earl) Mellott, Shelby (Tommie) Carbaugh, Sharon (Donald) Dale, Bonnie (Gary) Harbel, and a brother, Bobby Robinson.
Carl is preceded in death by his siblings: Fred Jr. Robinson, Paul Robinson, Donald Robinson, Devonnia Fox, and Joyce Zeger.
A viewing will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Fries Funeral Home in Mercersburg, PA. A funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Monday January 2, 2023 at the Greencastle Church of God with Pastor Floyd Myers and Pastor Mathew Robinson officiating and burial at Fairview Cemetery. There will be a viewing 1 hour prior to the service.
