Obituary for Bonnie Luther
Bonnie Leigh Luther, 60, of Mercersburg, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 in Chambersburg, PA.
Born January 6, 1963 in Wellsboro, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harold John Monk Sr. and Anna
Kathryne Day.
Bonnie worked as an artist who excelled in making crafts and sewing. She married James S. Luther and
raised two children, Jenny and Scott. Bonnie was very handy and driven to learn new things on her own.
She loved being a grandmother and helped raise some of her grandchildren. Bonnie was a great friend
and showed her love through serving and helping others in need.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 43 years, James S. Luther, and her daughter, Jenny (John) Jansen,
grandchildren: Dexter, Donovan, Carson, Ayden, and siblings, Hazel (Millard) Guild, Harold (Robin) Monk
Jr., and David (Debbie) Monk.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her son, Scott Luther, a sister, Judy Southard, and her father, Harold
Monk Sr.
A memorial service will be planned later at the convenience of the family.
