Obituary for Autry Ryder
Autry G. Ryder, 85, of Fort Loudon Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 in Chambersburg, PA.
Born February 10, 1937, in Fort Loudon, he was son of Winfried and Calvin Leab.
Autry worked 37 years at Valley Quarries Inc. as a truck driver and paving blacktop, and 8 years as a driver for St. Thomas Towing Company. He was an avid deer and turkey hunter. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending his time restoring older tractors. He was a hardworking man and a loving father and friend to many.
Autry is survived by two sons, Todd H. Ryder and his fiancé Jessica Gress, and Toby Ryder and his wife Carla. Autry is survived by two grandchildren, William Helmuth and Nicole Ryder.
Autry is preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Helmuth, a brother, Arthur Wood, and a sister, Darlene Guyer.
There will be a viewing from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, PA. A funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Fries Funeral Home with Pastor Summer Love Bair officiating and burial will take place at Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon, PA.
